As one of the largest educational, scientific and research centers in Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavonic University takes a great place in the region’s scientific field. In this respect, KRSU is keen on providing knowledge, technology and skills required to steer the country towards achieving the economic, social and political goals enshrined in national development instruments. Great attention is paid to the transfer of knowledge and technologies by integrating knowledge in basic functions of the University, and also transforming knowledge into products and services that are useful for the society.
 
In this regard, the Office of Research and Innovation is responsible for administration of all externally funded research awards, as well as central University research funding schemes. It is the first point of contact for staff seeking assistance in identifying funding opportunities. It advises on applications, and arranges submission to funding agencies. It manages the administration of grants once awarded, including contractual requirements. The Office deals with funding bodies on all pre and post-award matters, including progress and final reports and the preparation of financial statements.
 
The Office of Research and Innovation provides strategic and operational support to the University’s research program, and has a crucial role in facilitating the University’s research outcomes. The Office is involved in developing the University’s research profile and in developing and implementing research policies. The Office also provides the University with strategic and operational links with external agencies, including funding bodies.
 
The scientific and research potential of the University is built by over 810 high-class academic and research staff operating in the fields important for the development of science, economy and public health. Among those, there are 106 Doctors of Sciences, 440 Candidates of Sciences, 5 Academicians, 2 Corresponding Members of the Kyrgyz Academy of Sciences, 12 Honored Workers of Education of Kyrgyzstan and 14 Laureates of Kyrgyzstan State Award.
 
The innovation arm of the Office assists researchers and  scientists in assessing their inventions for commercial potential, and provides guidance on Intellectual Property protection, and commercialising inventions.

Key Activities:

  • Preparation of high class academic and research professionals through extensive scientific, research, and innovation training in their respective research domains;
  • Coordinating and conducting fundamental and applied research the development of new knowledge, practices or technologies;
  • Efficient management and continued expansion of the university’s research and scientific cooperation with other academic and scientific institutions and organizations inside the CIS countries and out;
  • Legal protection for the outcomes from innovation activities, including Research & Development, incremental changes; new combinations of existing knowledge; creativity and design to strengthen the university’s research and innovation capacity.
